Hey folks,

I've had a bit of a quiet weekend. I've done a couple interval sessions on the trainer but haven't been out due to inclement weather.

That's given me the time to take stock of my nutrition supplies and organise them using some existing and easy to find materials.

Stocktake:

I have a collection of both purchased and free nutrition. The free nutrition in this case came from my latest 2 Evans Ride It Sportives in Windsor and Liphook. Both were excellent rides, well organised and thoroughly enjoyable. I'd recommend those to beginners and experience riders alike. The Evans Ride It events are sponsored by High5 and as a result there are freebies and food stops stocked with High5 products. I signed up 8 weeks in advance so was eligible for the free High5 pack. I love freebies by the way!! In this pack was a bottle, gels, sports drink mix and a protein carbohydrate mix. Also acquired at the event, and given to all riders, was yet another High5 freebie containing yet more gels, sports mix and hydration tabs. Needless to say I'm covered for High5 products for a while.

As you may know Wiggle energy products are my favourite. Check out my previous blog post or YouTube review for more info. I have since bought two 20 packs of their energy gel (£9.99 each), one in Peaches and Cream and one in Strawberry Spilt.

They are delicious and much smaller than their competitors. As well as their gels I've also bought their energy drink mix and have been having a pretty good experience with it so far (review coming soon).

Last but not least I have my High5 Zero X'treme caffeine electrolyte tabs. I bought this pack of 8x20 from Tweeks for £25. I use these on almost every ride for a boost and enhanced focus. They really help kick start you into a workout if you're ever feeling a bit lethargic. I'd highly recommend them but take care not to exceed the daily recommend caffeine levels prescribed by your home country.

DIY Organiser:

As mentioned earlier this organiser is made from easy to come by materials. Mine consists of a cardboard box from Wiggle, that's it! I cut the box down to my desired height. Low enough to easily look into/ show off, but high enough to stop anything falling out! Inside I divided the area into three sections using cardboard cutoffs.

I also trimmed down a Nesquik tub to accommodate my High5 gels.

The final product is a robust, quick and collapsable nutrition organiser which I made in under 5 minutes. This helps me find what I want quickly and lets me know when I'm running low on anything. I'm very happy with the overall appearance.
